Actv provides transport services on both land and water. The company has fleets of water- and land buses for services in the centre, suburbs and out of town.


The waterborne fleet

This is composed of about 152 craft and approximately a hundred pontoon boarding points. In detail, the types of craft in the fleet are larger water buses (58), smaller water buses (49), single-agent water buses, offshore motor-boats (15), foot-passenger ferries (13, for carrying large numbers of passengers) and car ferries (7, for vehicle transportation). All craft are registered with RINA (the Italian Shipping Register), which certifies their state of structural efficiency, their safety and the quality of maintenance. They are equipped with radiophone for communication with the Shipping Operations Centre and the DGPS satellite position-finding system. Actv has done a lot of work recently on renewing its fleet by investing substantial sums to achieve great improvements in the standards of quality, efficiency and, not least, environmental impact.
